The Art of Ptah

Ptah Eikner is an independent artist living in Atlanta, Georgia and has been painting and drawing since he was four years old. He is a 1992 graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia and a 1987 graduate of the South Carolina Governors School for the Arts at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. He has completed other professional development through the City of Atlanta Office of Cultural Affairs and Fulton County Arts Council.

He has completed a number of artistic commissions to include permanent art for Gladys Knight Chicken & Waffle Restaurants in Atlanta, Georgia and Largo, Maryland and for other private investors.

He currently has works on exhibit at Fulton County Library in downtown Atlanta and in the exhibit, Through Our Eyes, sponsored by African Americans for the Arts in Eaton, Georgia. Other exhibits include Pearl Gallery, Green Onions Restaurant, and Rudisill Regional Library in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Ptah has an honorable discharge from the United States Coast Guard.

He has held professional associations with the Southwest Water Color Society (Dallas), Community Artists Collective (Houston), High Museum 20th Century Club (Atlanta), Artist of Color of the South Carolina Arts Commission (Columbia), and Columbia Museum of Art.

Ptah is a current member of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Atlanta and the Savannah College of Art and Design Alumni Association.
